Rödl & Partner, a global professional services firm based in Germany, and VonLehman CPA & Advisory Firm, a regional accounting and consulting firm based in Fort. Wright, have formed a joint venture to better serve major foreign companies in the region.

Known as Rödl & Partner / VL, the combination of a global reach, an interdisciplinary approach and a focus on medium-sized companies with foreign capital makes the joint venture unique and will provide international companies with the region better prospects for their success.

“Rödl & Partner in the United States serves a very specific type of customer – entities located in the United States that are owned by foreign parent companies. VonLehman also has a concentration of these types of entities, which are often in the manufacturing and distribution space. This region continues to be a huge growth area for this industry, ”said Beth Vice, shareholder of VonLehman and head of the joint venture.

“By combining our strengths, we will be able to elevate the way we serve these entities. This includes offering services that we previously did not have in-house, including transfer pricing studies, international structuring, and a deep understanding of the differences between US accounting and tax standards compared to international standards. Equally important, the joint venture will be headquartered here in Greater Cincinnati, so our presence and knowledge of the local landscape remains intact. “

Rödl & Partner is a global company founded in Germany in 1977. It currently has 106 offices and 5,200 people serving clients in 48 countries. In the United States, Rödl & Partner is the leading European mid-sized family business. Rödl & Partner has over 45 years of experience in the United States and currently has eight offices and 300 employees. They serve 2,500 customers in the United States, 97% of which are European family businesses.

Celebrating its 75th anniversary, VonLehman is a leading full-service CPA and business consulting firm with 140 employees. With offices in Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, VonLehman takes a proactive approach to accounting, tax, and policy advice for private businesses, nonprofits, and government entities. The company focuses on manufacturing and distribution, construction and real estate, non-profit organizations, professional services and high net worth individuals. For decades, VonLehman has honed its expertise in the manufacturing and distribution industry specifically to serve international clients with locations in the United States.

“Rödl & Partner always strives to be where its European manufacturing and distribution customers see the potential of their business engagement in the United States. Realizing VonLehman’s excellent reputation in the market and its significant market share serving foreign companies in the region is a perfect complement to us, ”said Matthias Amberg, Partner at Rödl & Partner in Chicago, Illinois.

“Our bilingual professionals, as well as our interdisciplinary approach, allow us to understand and meet the needs of businesses and allow us to jointly find solutions to their complex cross-border challenges, such as expatriate tax advice, US-GAAP audits and group reporting conversions. “

Beth Vice of VonLehman, audit shareholder, and Ryan Redleski, senior tax director, will join the joint venture. Vice and Redleski will continue to be employed by VonLehman while continuing to work from the Fort Wright, Ky. Office. Vice will lead the joint venture with a focus on audit and consulting while Redleski will provide an international tax specialization to the team. Christian Hock, partner at Rödl & Partner, will support the joint venture. Hock was born in Germany and works in the Rödl & Partner office in Chicago, Illinois. Hock specializes in auditing and taxation. The team intends to grow in the future.

It is important to note that VonLehman is not in the process of being acquired and that they are not merging with Rödl & Partner. Simply put, it is a joint venture between the two companies to support a unique type of entity. VonLehman will continue to serve all customers as the company has done for the past 75 years.
